The countdown is officially on. We are exactly a month away from the BIG day. I am keeping my stress at bay by enjoying the start of summer! We spent Memorial Day Weekend with some friends at Seed Lake just about 2 hours north of us in Suwanee. The weather was perfect, Abbey tried out her sea legs on her first boat ride (she also made a new friend in Jack, the 7 month old black lab), and I proved to myself I've still got it when I got up on the skis Sunday afternoon.
I think she enjoyed herself- this is how we found her Monday upon our arrival back home.
Right before school got out we took Abbey for a fun day at Woofstock, a gathering of dogs and their owners from all around the area socializing, shopping, eating, and competing. Here she is with Dan listening to some of the live music- and growing like a weed!
So far this summer when I'm not attempting to train our pup or wear her out on a walk somewhere along the Suwanee Greenway, I've started another make-over project for my favorite room in our house, the kitchen: Thanks to Dan's boss, we inherited two heinously retro wicker hanging lights...
Luckily, Dan and I can see into it's refurbished future and know it is a fabulous light waiting to illuminate our kitchen table. Inspired by the design of one of our favorite Atlanta restaurants, Abattoir (also home to our upcoming rehearsal dinner!), we figured with a little paint and a new lightbulb (to come soon upon hanging- Dan is brushing up on his electrical handiness) that we could have our own wicker basket light fixture in the comfort of our real favorite place to eat.

We've also come a long way on the AFI Top 100 Movie list, but to be candid, I can't say I stayed awake for all of the ones we are still marking off the list updated below. Let's just say thank goodness for the fast forward button that helped us get through Intolerance and Sunrise. Gold Rush gave both of us some good laughs. 12 Angry Men kept our interest, The French Connection was a let down, and if I never see Blade Runner again it'll be too soon (which Dan will say is silly considering I didn't get through it the first time).
